July, 2nd 2022 Architecture USM sweeps 2000 USD in cash prizes being the top prize winners at the 4th Architecture Students Design Competition - Architalent Future City Competition. Organized by Archidex, Pertubuhan Akitek Malaysia (PAM) and C.I.S. Network Sdn. Bhd., this prestigious competition accumulates to a total prize reward of 2700 USD. Dr. Faizal Baharum graduated with B.Sc. (Hons) in Housing, Building & Planning from Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) in 2003 and M. Sc. in 2005. He obtained Ph.D. (Mechanical Engineering) in 2012 from the University of Manchester, UK.

Currently he taugh building technology course at Building Technology Department, School of Housing, Building & Planning (USM) Penang. Prior to pursue his stydy in Ph.D., he worked as a Building Surveyor in Historical Building Conservation Consultant in penang; a Project Engineer in HVAC project for Intel Technology Sdn. Bhd. (M).; and a Mechanical Designer for M.E.I. Project Engineer in Penang.

His specialisation lies in the area of building energy simulation for present and future time, regional weather data analyses and building energy saving.
