Dr. Ruhizal Roosli is a senior lecturer at the School of Housing, Building and Planning, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). He has a BSc (Hons.) in Housing, Building & Planning and MSc in Housing Studies from USM; Advanced Diploma in Peace Operations and Crisis Management (ISPI, Italy); and PhD in Housing Studies (Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK). He is a Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Housing (MCIH), Chartered Member of Chartered Institute of Architectural Technologists (MCIAT) and Corporate Member of Chartered Association of Building Engineer (MCABE), United Kingdom. He is also a certified SPHERE Handbook in Action Practitioner. He has worked in the private sector as well as non-profit charity organisations, completing numerous successful projects. Research focuses on how people have, are and will produce better settlement in normal and emergency situation. Main current research areas are:
