COURSE CONTENT

The course is focused on cultural heritage and their transmission through time and space. Heritage conservation and preservation bears testimony to timeless artefacts and reminiscence of historic milestones. Participants of this course are guided through cultural heritage lecture modules to conceptualise and recognise the content and context of tangible and intangible cultural heritage at George Town World Heritage Sites (WHS) towards safeguarding the heritage legacy for posterity. Heritage-related issues and problems arising from current trends of rapid urbanisation, population growth, climate change and environmental degradation are discussed in order to expose the participants to challenges and prospects of cultural heritage conservation in George Town WHS.
