These programmes are offered as full-time and part-time modes to qualified Malaysian and international students to do independent research supervised by respective lecturers in various specialisations in the field of Architecture. As the concern on sustainability issues in built environment emerged, many new areas / fields of studies are explored. PhD (Building Surveying)

Doctor of Philosophy in Building Surveying are research programmes offered throughout the year. These programmes are offered as full-time and part-time modes to qualified Malaysian and international students to do independent research supervised by respective lecturers in various specialisations in the field of Building Surveying.

As the concern on sustainability issues in built environment increased, these programmes focus on the building control and performance to achieve a safe, friendly and well maintained building and infrastructure. These programmes include total asset management practice, which begins at the planning stage until the disposal of assets. Building control and performance covers pre, execution and post construction. It also encompasses the operational life cycle of building performance and restoration. At the end of the programme, graduates are able to:

  1. contribute knowledge and competent skills in conducting research in the field of Built Environment
  2. integrate information and knowledge of the theoretical principles and scientific method to solve problems
  3. demonstrate effective communication in the Built Environment community and teamwork

  • Fulfil the publication(s) requirement
