Held at PAM Centre, Kuala Lumpur, this year marked the fifth and the final round of the PAM-ZSR Architecture Prize which was first started back in 2015. The objectives of this prize are to recognize architecture education in Malaysia, to encourage students to proceed to the next level of education, and to encourage networking and interaction among architectural students in both IPTA and IPTS in Malaysia.

 

We are honoured when one of our students has been announced as the ‘Winner’ which is Mr. Muhamad Hisham Zainal Aznam and supervised by Dr Nooriati Taib. His entry with the title Ipoh Gateway, Tourist Information Centre and Architectural Heritage Museum, with the concept of “Reminiscing the Past”- The Tin Dredger won the hearts of the juries and took home RM 3000 and a certificate as the winning prize.

 

As for the LAM PART II category, among the six finalists, the entry by Mr. Teh Xian Zhi with the title Lepu Alang Housing Project won the prize and he brought back RM 5000 and a certificate. His supervisor, Dr. Mohd Hafizal Mohd Isa said that the project addresses local social issues which can improve the social well-being of the community in the proposed housing project.
